The draft Convention on Transferable Air Cargo Documents is about to be implemented in the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) plans to finalize the draft Convention on Transferable Cargo Documents at the Vienna meeting in July 2025. The core goal is to establish a mechanism for transferring ownership of goods during non-maritime transportation and fill the current legal gap. Core breakthroughs and values: First, fill the legal vacuum. Current railway, highway and air waybills (such as air transport AWB) do not have the function of ownership certificates and cannot be transferred on the way. The new convention will give legal effect to multimodal transport (excluding maritime sections) and single mode of transport transferable electronic goods records for the first time. The second is to release trade momentum. Enhance transportation flexibility: When routes are interrupted, the transportation mode can be switched to ensure the right to dispose of goods; stabilize financing mortgages, maintain the value of goods on the way, and support trade financing; accelerate digital transformation, replace paper documents with a single electronic record, and simplify the door-to-door transportation process. Implementation path: The draft will be submitted to the United Nations General Assembly for review by the end of 2025. After approval, it will build a global unified framework for the circulation of goods in the non-maritime field to promote the upgrading of trade efficiency and security. (Air Cargo News)

The first wing of the Airbus A350F cargo aircraft has been manufactured

According to Airbus, the Airbus Broughton plant successfully manufactured its first A350F cargo wing, marking an important milestone in the project. The wing design is common to the A350 passenger aircraft and can be manufactured efficiently on the same production line. Designed to meet global freight demand, the A350F uses advanced composite wings to significantly reduce weight and improve aerodynamic efficiency. The two test aircraft are scheduled to be tested in 2026 and 2027. The first wing will be shipped to Germany for final assembly. The core advantages of the A350F include: higher efficiency, 20% lower fuel consumption and carbon emissions than the active cargo aircraft; stronger loading and equipped with the industry's largest cargo door (4.3 meters wide), more convenient and safer loading and unloading; longer range, 8,700 kilometers, and a maximum loading and loading and unloading of 111 tons. The A350F has nearly 1,400 orders (including 63 cargo planes), which will reshape the future air cargo landscape. (airbus)
